In 1999 the French company "Irisbus" was founded, which became one of the divisions of the "IVECO" concern, specializing in the production of buses. In the same year, the former division of the Italian concern FIAT for the production of diesel power units was incorporated into Irisbus. By 2002, IVECO becomes the sole owner of the brand, having bought out the remaining 10% of shares from the French government. In the same year, a whole range of the Irisbus company was presented, including city and intercity buses, models for transporting tourists and open buses, which are especially popular in European capitals.
