In America, in the middle of the last century, the concept of Recreation Vehicles (RV - recreational vehicle) appeared. Although rather a bus for relaxation. Nothing like this could have arisen anywhere. War, disgusting roads, the huge size of the country and the general technical potential of this or that state interfered. And rich America, with a well-developed road infrastructure, a rich population and excellent cars, yearned for something else unseen ... And it appeared. Gradually, the industry of these cars grew, it was necessary to introduce a classification (class A, B, C ...), then special rules and regulations for cars in this category, depending on its size.

But back to Recreation Vehicles. For some RV manufacturers it is easier to contract with an existing bus company to supply a Bus-Shell, ie a bus without interior equipment (seats, upholstery and often even without a dashboard), while others do it all. at their production sites - from design to the last nut on the wheel or in the interior. Of course, standardized elements are purchased because the current RV regulations are extremely strict and difficult to satisfy.

The manufacturers of such luxury buses include the American firms Country Coach, Newell, Liberty Coach, Marathon Coach, and others. Some of them purchase ready-made buses for subsequent retrofitting of interiors, while others make themselves. Let's start with the world famous American Coach company. For his creations, he uses buses from proven manufacturers such as Canadian MCI, Prevost and American Blue Birds. These firms specifically produce shell buses for these manufacturers. Most buses have retractable side wall sections (both right and left) to increase interior space. Of course, this is done only at stops. Here the RVs are connected to centralized hot and cold water, sewage and electricity systems. All this is in the buses themselves, but for the sake of economy, you can connect! As a rule, American Coach manufactures its campsites on the chassis of Prevost buses, while the retractable side walls are manufactured by RV. Three-axis monsters with a maximum length of 13.5 meters. Who buys them? There are two types of Americans. The first are those who have this bus - all that it has. In it he lives with his family, moving from state to state. As a rule, their bumpers are hung with dozens of license plates. The overwhelming majority of owners of such buses are millionaires, because their cost starts at $ 700,000 ... It all depends on the interior trim, furniture and materials used. In the entire history of the existence of RV, there were no two identical buses! Before buying, a potential owner must fill out a volumetric card, and then wait from six months to a year when his order is completed.
